Who are some of the early Breakout stars of 2018?

I will throw two names out there, as players who excelled in 2017, but who have taken the next step to standout-star early in the 2018 season.

Attackman Garrett Young ’18 – Masconomet – Young, who shined this offseason, has translated his summer and fall play into the regular season, opening with 8 goals and 3 assists in two wins for Masco.

Defenseman Drew Leahy ’19 – St. John’s Prep – Leahy, who routinely covered opposing team’s best attackmen last year, has looked amazing early in 2018. Leahy excelled in the opener against L-S and will look to lead Prep into their loaded Catholic Conference based schedule.

Michael Tobin (Reading) – defenses giving Jack Geiger the shutoff treatment and Tobin making them pay. 7 goals and 5 assts in first two games. UMass commit is a beast on wing gbs too.

For young bucks, I was really impressed last night with Nobles sophomore goalie Dan Donahue and St. Sebastian’s freshman defender Jimmy Freehill. Both young players performed very well in their first ISL starts under the lights at Harvard. Big futures ahead!
