BOSTON – So far, the second-seeded Boston College High School Eagles have made a mockery of the supposedly loaded field in the Division 1 South bracket.

Their latest achievement, a 15-5 thrashing of No. 11 Wellesley in the sectional semifinals Tuesday night, was so thorough in its execution that it seemed to be over after only 10 minutes of play.

BC High has now won 11 straight games since losing to La Salle Academy (R.I.) on April 28 and in true BC fashion, they are peaking at the right time.

The Eagles (18-3) have been dominant defensively all season, and All-American Will Bowen led the charge once again, shutting down Wellesley star senior midfielder Michael Bomes.

But the development of BC High’s young offensive attack has been huge, as sophomore Aidan Carroll (5 goals, 3 assists), freshman Carter Rice (2 goals, 3 assists) and junior Chi Chi Price (3 goals) have all come into their own during the second half of the season.

“The coaches have done a great job of molding the team, and guys are figuring out that if they give everything they have energy-wise, we can be tough to beat,” said Bowen. “I think a lot of guys have come a long way.”
