2018 Boston Lax All-American Game Selections (Wave 3 of 3)

Facebooktwittermail

Welcome to the final wave (3 of 3) of our selection process for the 2018 Boston Lax All-American game, to be held on Monday, July 9th at Xaverian High School at 6:30 p.m.

The players who were chosen were selected through the All-American game selection process by the BostonLax staff. All first-team Eastern Massachusetts Lacrosse Coaches Association and ISL Super Team Members were the first two waves of players to receive automatic invitations.

Last week we recognized the 17 student-athletes selected to the 2018 Eastern Massachusetts Lacrosse Coaches Association First-Team All-Americans. The first-teamers are automatically invited to our 2018 Boston Lax All-American game and represented our second wave of invites. (2 of 3)

Our initial wave (1 of 3) of invites were selected from our 16-player 2018 Boston Lax ISL First team (Super Team) squad.

As with past All-American game selections,  our Boston Lax selection committee received suggestions from ISL, Western Mass, Central Mass, and Eastern Massachusetts coaches and representatives. While we respect the process of leagues and regions, the Boston Lax All-American selection process is unique in that we have a limited amount of players able to participate in the game. These players are selected from a large player pool. In the selection process, we count the total season of work, including the postseason. We place a great influence on postseason performance (all state champions and ISL champions have multiple players representing their teams, and all MIAA runners-up are represented by at least one player), and we have certain position groups which we need to balance and fill.

This process is extremely contentious and difficult to narrow down, and all players who are nominated were not able to be selected. We hope that everyone understands the challenges associated with the process, and we want to wish all of the players who were not selected, nothing but the best in their future lacrosse endeavors. We also want to congratulate the players selected.

Players Selected: If you have not so already, please confirm your place in the game by messaging our twitter handle @bostonlaxnet or emailing bostonlax1@gmail.com

Please mention if (you can or cannot attend) and also include your email, by Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 3 pm. We will then proceed to our reserve list. Thank you.

We will also be announcing our coaches and the team rosters within the next week, so please stay posted for your jersey color.
