20 Top MIAA Stars in 2018


With the 2018 MIAA season nearing it’s midway point, and the action heating up, Bostonlax.net has been all over the fields watching some of the top-ranked teams and top-ranked players in Massachusetts.

After bringing you our Top 20 ISL Stars last week, we now elease our Top 20 MIAA stars rankings list for the 2018 season.

It is always a difficult task of narrowing down a list, with so much talent and so many deserving student-athletes.

Bowen is the consensus top player in Massachusetts and for all the hype that surrounds him, it is warranted. He is big, fast, strong, quick, skilled and has been playing at an elite level for all three years of his HS career.
2 Frankie Higgins FO/LSM/D Hingham Senior Bucknell
The two-time Eastern Mass All-American is one of the top all-around players in the MIAA, as he has been a dominant faceoff man for three years and is also an established and improving LSM and defender.
3 Jack Geiger Midfield Reading Senior Massachusetts
Geiger has been a top midfielder for Reading for three years, providing toughness and scoring ability out of the midfield for the Rockets.
4 Peter Rizzotti Defense Lincoln-Sudbury Senior Dartmouth
The skilled veteran defenseman only knows success, as he helped lend his hand to L-S’s impressive run of D1 State Championship titles.
5 Eric Civetti Attack Franklin Senior Rutgers
An explosive scorer with quickness and a knack for the goal, Civetti leads Franklin’s offense and is as a tough of a cover as you will find in the MIAA.

Midfield Hopkinton Senior Quinnipiac
Abbott may be the most accomplished athlete in the state, as he stars on the gridiron and ice for Hopkinton. His No 1 sport is lax, however, and he is next to impossible to stop once he gets a head of steam and he attacks the cage.
7 Jake Addeche Goalie Foxboro Senior Hofstra
The top goalie in the MIAA this year, Addeche is looking to lead Foxboro back to the top of the D2 ranks with his standout play in the cage.
8 Jason Child Attack Needham Junior Boston University
One of the most dangerous attackmen in the state, Child is creative and skilled with the ball in his stick and explosive and smart moving without it.
9 Michael Tobin Attack/Midfield Reading Junior Massachusetts
Another veteran, who has started and made an impact since his freshman year, Tobin routinely draws the oppositions best pole and has taken on the lead scoring role this year.
10 Jake Quilty Midfield Hingham Senior Vermont
One of the fastest and deadliest shots in the state, the big lefty has put it all together as an offensive midfielder for the Harbormen.
11 Jake Antonucci Attack Westwood Senior Providence
Antonucci is one of the top scoring attackmen in the state and he has been in that role for past three years for Westwood.
12 Michael Roche   Midfield North Andover Junior Maryland
Roche has done it all out of the midfield for North Andover to start the year. Whether it is scoring goals, distributing, taking faceoffs or running the transition game the lefty is competing at a high level from horn to horn.
13 Tommy Joyce   Defense BC High Senior Harvard
Joyce is back on the field and making a difference for the Eagles, as the Harvard commit has great size and good on-ball defensive ability.
14 Collin Almeida Midfield Falmouth Junior Penn State
Almeida has been playing meaningful lacrosse since his freshman year and the experienced and skilled midfielder even netted the game-winner in the 2017 Boston Lax All-American game.
15 Joe Gooley Midfield Duxbury Senior PG – Phillips Exeter
The dual-sport star excels on the gridiron for the Dragons, but he has made it clear that he is also a star on the lax field, bursting out of the gate strong and putting up points for Dux.
16 Matt Ward Attack Lincoln-Sudbury Junior Uncommitted
Ward has stepped up big this year for L-S and has become their go-to scorer, while also doing a nice job facilitating when needed.
17 John Schofield   LSM Medfield Sophomore Uncommitted
One of the top cover men in the state Schofield is only getting better, which is not great news for the rest of the TVL and Division 2.
18 Sam Jean Attack Xaverian Junior Uncommitted
Jean is off to one of teh hottest starts to the 2018 season, as he has established himself as one of the most respected attackmen in the state this year.
19 Spencer Robbins Attack Longmeadow Senior Wesleyan
Robbins has been one of the top attackmen in Western Mass. the past two years. The returning Boston Lax All-American game participant is off to a strong start, going over the 200 point mark for his career this season for the Lancers.
20 Nate Bosnian Defense Hingham Senior UC Boulder
Bosnian is a tough and skilled defenseman who has really stepped his game up this year for the No. 1 ranked Harbormen.
