With the 2018 ISL season underway and the action heating up, Bostonlax.net has been all over the fields watching some of the top-ranked teams and top-ranked players in Massachusetts.

Today we bring you our Top 20 ISL stars rankings list for the 2018 season.

It is always a difficult task narrowing down a list, with so many deserving student-athletes.

2 Danny Hincks Goalie Belmont Hill Senior Dartmouth
The top returning goalie in the State is a physical specimen in the cage, with ball-stopping ability, excellence in the clearing game, and overall leadership ability.
3 Nick Loring Midfield Nobles Senior Harvard
Loring has one of the best outside shots in the State, possessing a laser-like release to go with great size at the offensive midfield position.
4 Michael Swirbalus Attack/Midfield St. Sebastian’s Junior Duke
One of the most skilled members of the Class of 2019, Swirbalus is working at attack this year, after excelling at the midfield position last year.
5 Alex Gainey Goalie St Sebastian’s Senior Johns Hopkins
One of the most improved players in the state, Gainey turned heads with his play last season, and has started the 2018 season out in strong fashion as well.
6 Deven Varney Goalie Roxbury Latin Junior UPenn
The junior is already a four-year veteran starter and is one of the top returning goalies in the Class of 2019.
7 Zach Ludd Attack Governor’s Senior Ohio State
Ludd has some of the best vision and passing ability from an attackman in the State. Ludd also possesses elite quickness to go with his play-making ability.
8 Nate Laliberte FO/M Governor’s Sophomore Bryant
The New Hampshire resident and Gov’s newcomer, has proved in short time to be the top faceoff man in the state and a major factor in the early success of Gov’s.
9 Max Fields Defense Belmont Hill Senior Cornell
The senior long pole has been one of the top defenders in the ISL the past three seasons and will look to lead BH back to the top of the ISL again this season.
10 Michael Hughes LSM Brooks Junior Providence
One of the most talented and top LSMs in the state, Hughes has drawn rave reviews from coaches and players alike in his time up at Brooks.
11 Jett Dziama Midfield Nobles Senior Boston University
Dziama has become one of the best offensive midfielders in the ISL in his two years at Nobles.

Synnott is a physical, great on the groundballs and excellent in the clearing game. The Hobart commit has been a staple and a pivotal player for the Knights the past few seasons.

One of the top returning scorers in the ISL Lambert is back for his senior season looking
14 Johnny Kantaros   LSM Rivers Junior Uncommitted
Another top LSM and standout defender Kantaros is also a force on the ice for the Rivers hockey team.

Haase is another gifted play-making attackman, who possesses elite vision and a high lacrosse IQ.

17 Brian Piatelli Attack St. Sebastian’s Junior Cornell
The gifted and balanced Piatelli leads the ISL in scoring and assists with eight goals and 25 assists to start the 2018 season.
18 Will Plansky Midfield St. Sebastian’s Senior Maryland
Plansky is one of the most explosive and offensively talented left-handed midfielders in the state.
19 Brian Antonelli Attack Belmont Hill Senior Brown
Another gifted attackman who has a knack for the back of the cage, the righty combines with Haase and Rubin to form one of the league’s top attacks.
20 Brendan Jordan Midfield Governor’s Senior Colgate
Jordan continues to prove why he is one of the top offensive midfielders in the state, possessing strength from both hands, combined with quickness and shot accuracy.
